REAL WEDDING: STEFANIE & SAM – PART II

| ‘The wedding reception was held at A New Leaf. This was one of the first reception venues we visited, and we fell in love with it immediately: The brick walls, raw cement floor and pillars, the steel railings and metal accents… it fit our vision for something clean and modern but completely unpolished and organic. And since I grew up in France, we also loved the European flair of the garden/terrace that the main room opened up on to. |

| The Highlights: Champagne toast given by the bride’s father to begin the reception – my parents flew to the States with nearly four crates of Champagne which they went and bought themselves directly from the producer in the champagne region of France. First dance: Lover’s Waltz by A. A. Bondy Guestbook: We had a photo-booth set up during the reception for all to use freely… It is still hilarious to go back through our guest book and see how much fun people had with it! |

| Sam comes from a family of musicians, so this aspect of the wedding was very important to him especially. During the ceremony, the music (hymns and bluegrass traditionals) was played by some dear friends of Sam’s family – actually the same musicians who played at Sam’s parents wedding! At the reception, a Chicago-based band, the Stitely Orchestra played Motown music – they were absolutely incredible! Everyone danced for nearly three hours – older family members and college friends alike! |
