REAL WEDING: MEGAN & SIMON

Happy Monday Everyone…I’m so sorry for skipping out on you guys on Friday….we were busy on Thursday night preparing all the floral for our photo shoots with Elizabeth Messina….OMG…she is AMAZING!!!….can’t wait to share all the photos with you!!!

The cafe is back in full swing today….we have two beautiful weddings to share with you, so get ready for some gorgeous ‘eye candy’….First up is the beautiful wedding story of Megan & Simon.  Their wedding was captured by the ridiculously talented team of Jamie and Chris Waters of JAC Photography.

Jamie shares all the ‘411’ with us……’Megan and Simon are such relaxed people who enjoy the beach, her backyard that overlooked the ocean was a perfect venue for this wedding! The venue was the bride’s parent’s backyard,  date: August 15, 2009  Bride’s dress: Nicole Miller, Bride’s shoes: J. Crew. Jewelry: Bride’s mom handmade the pearl necklace that bride is wearing and groom sent Tiffany&Co. earrings over the morning of the wedding.

Groom’s suit: Hugo Boss, groom’s shoes: John Varvatos.

The bridesmaids dresses were all different. They knew the color scheme and were able to pick whatever dress they wanted. Megan liked the difference in each of the dresses and actually didn’t see what each girl was wearing till the day of the wedding! Talk about relaxed! 🙂

Stationary was all done by Megan and Simon. They came up with the orange swirly icon and incorporated it into all of their print materials, including a hand carved and hand painted sign that the groom made himself! (the arrow wedding sign)

Florals: La Fleur
Rentals: Classic Party Rentals
DJ:  Ace of Hearts Entertainment
Guitarist:  Ashanti Dykes
Make up: Makeup By Ronann
Hair: Harmony at Hush Hush Salon

Catering all done by: New York Food Company, they set up large outdoor grills and grilled the shrimp, veggies and beef all right there. During cocktail hour, everyone could smell the food and it was glorious! Drinks: during cocktail hour, they had a bartender there but the couple also made big jars of their favorite drinks: Moroccan Mint Tea and Summer Lemonade.

Cake had three different flavors: Carrot Cake, Strawberry and Red Velvet.
The bride and groom also collected succulents all year from the farmer’s market and the mother of the bride planted them all until she had enough for all the centerpieces throughout the wedding!
The ceremony was held in the backyard, when it was finished, the caterers transformed the same area to the dining area for the reception. The guests were to go to the front of the house for cocktail hour. It worked out so well!

The guests were allowed to sit wherever they wanted, there was not assigned seating, adding to the relaxed evening! The bride wanted everyone to mingle where ever they wanted and not feel forced to sit in one seat the whole time. They also had buffet appetizers all night long- but they weren’t little finger foods- they had shrimp skewers, beef skewers, and amazing fresh salads!’

How cute are these gifts that Jamie and Chris make for their clients…….’These are photos of a handmade gift that we include for our brides. I premake the folio and attach polaroids that we take from a medium format camera. We present them to the couple so that they can take actual photos with them from their day to their honeymoon!’

Thanks SO much for stopping by Jamie and Chris….your work is truly beautiful and we look forward to your next visit with us…guys, make sure you check out JAC Photography’s site to see so much more of their gorgeous work….and we wish Megan & Simon a lifetime filled with happiness and joy!
