Brooke shares a little info with us……’Pink! Pink! Pink! There was also a theme of magnolia flowers. A few months before the wedding the bride was trying to decide on a flower that would be the “theme” of the wedding. She chose a magnolia and sent the idea along to her best friend Carolynn who lives in Costa Mesa, CA. A few days later Carolynn sent her a print out of the meaning and origin of a magnolia. She included a letter about how she felt the bride was so much like this magnolia, strong yet delicate looking and very enduring. And how she felt this flower so closely resembled the relationship between the bride and groom. This stuck with the bride and magnolias were used everywhere from the wedding programs and invitations to the cake and table name cards. The couple took dance lessons and surprised their guests for their first dance with a Waltz by John Legend’s ‘Stay with You’, a Swing number to Frank Sinatra’s ‘You Make Me Feel So Young’, and a hip hop number to Sir Mix a Lot’s, ‘Baby Got Back’. All dances were choreographed by the bride. They ended the last song of the night with “Last Dance” from Frank Sinatra.’ The theme for the flowers was “Romantic Hawaii.” The bride wanted flowers that reminded her of Santa Barbara yet something that reflected their love of Hawaii. Flowers included Tuberose, Peonies, Large Garden Roses, Hydrangea, Ranunculus, Snow Berries, Hanging Amaranthus, Chocolate Cosmos, Cymbidiums, Plumerias, and Magnolia Leaves. All florals were in shades of pink.’ |

‘For the children there was a candy buffet with seven different candy choices all in various shades of pink. It was a hit with the adults as well! Each bag provided for the candy was labeled with the bride and groom’s name and date of the wedding. Also included on the label read “Enjoy Your Treat” which coordinated with the pink letters of “Love is Sweet” that was a part of the decoration of the candy buffet table. Each letter was placed in its own pot of pink florals.’ |
