SOMETHING NEW : SWEET TREATS FOR YOUR FALL WEDDING

Man, do I love a good September in Richmond! Starting with the clear blue skies(… without the hurricanes of course…), to the way the air starts getting crisper, losing humidity, and finally giving us a much needed break from a summer of frizzy hairstyles. It’s a beautiful beginning to a season of football, bonfires, pecan pie & apple picking… and it’s the perfect month for a wedding! Even though the leaves have not yet turned, and I am still holding  on to a bit of summer… fall is well on it’s way! So today’s post is dedicated to one of the best things about the season…all the delicious desserts! Whether you are getting married this fall or next, here are some photos to inspire your dessert table, especially if you are looking for an alternative to regular wedding cake. So Enjoy! And read closely, there might even be a recipe or two. 😉

1. Mini Pies:

These little babies have recently come onto the Wedding scene and they are such a crowd pleaser! You can order gourmet versions to have delivered for your big day, or you can make them in little muffin pans! Flavors seen from left: Pecan, Dutch Apple, & Coconut Cream.

2. Mini Pies in Teacups:

American apple pie meets English tea-time… it’s already on my faves list.

3. DIY Gourmet S’mores Bar:

You don’t have to be the outdoorsy type to enjoy this fine treat! A dessert table filled with s’mores & other s’mores-inspired desserts is sure to put a smile on your guest’s faces.

4. S’mores Favors:

Yes, because they will want ‘s’more!’ The left photo shows boxed ingredients that guests can take home with them after the wedding, the boxes also doubled as placecards. On the right, marshmallows were rolled in chocolate & graham cracker crumbles, making a treat tidy enough for guests to enjoy on the ride home!

5. Hot Cocoa:

Just looking at these sweet favors makes me want to go make a cup of warm choclatey goodness right now! Pre-packaged hot cocoa mixes sent home with your guests will warm them up on a chilly day… and they’ll think of your wedding day with each sip!

6. Apple Cider:

I’ve saved the best for last 🙂 At least I think so! I am a sucker for anything apple-cinnamon so I’ve rounded up a few special treats to share with you… and to keep myself 😉
Apple Cider Donuts are the perfect fall treat for your wedding- especially if you happen to be getting married in the mountains or in an orchard! Apple Cider is a great drink to serve at your fall wedding, is would also make a great signature drink, find a recipe you like & make it your own! (Shown here, Caramel Apple Spice.) More sweet, more spice… to your liking! And of course, a new spin on Caramel Apples. Served on small twigs and dipped in caramel sauce, these pretty treats were then rolled in sea salt! Love!

Thanks for reading again, everyone! I hope you enjoyed! Let me know in the comments what desserts you’ll be serving up at your fall wedding! 🙂
