INSPIRATION – 50’S INSPIRED STYLED WEDDING

‘There’s something about full skirt dresses, cat eyeglasses, Frank Sinatra Hats and sharkskin suits that have a special place in my heart. I thought it would be fun to re-create a vintage vibe with a modern twist that would work for the fall season. I scoured the internet for a lovely 50’s wedding dress that wasn’t overly done with tulle/lace or modern rockabilly and found an adorable, authentic dress perfect for a semi-formal, day wedding! We chose our floral designer Brooke’s West Los Angeles home as the backdrop for our shoot because it had a quaint and colorful courtyard feel which provided a cozy, intimate setting. An awesome ornate gate served as the archway that we decorated with vintage honeycomb paper wedding bells and DIY tissue pom-poms in our color motif of blues and purples. We set-up a reception table, sweetheart table, cake table, love seat lounge area, playing some of my mom’s old records and also took some impromptu shots of our lovely newlyweds and bridesmaid out in the street. You may notice our groomsman wasn’t able to join us, nevertheless ‘the wedding’ went off without a hitch!’
