Okay ladies and gents…I don’t know what you guys have planned for the weekend, but trust me…you need to start the weekend off at the movies checking out BRIDESMAIDS! My BFF and I got to see it a couple of weeks ago…I was contacted by Universal Pictures to be apart of the Bridesmaids Blogger Tour and I was invited to a prescreening. We had a ball y’all…the movie is hilarious….I mean OMG funny…you’ll love it! Now, I don’t want to give too much away about the movie because I know you all are going to see it…Bridesmaids is produced by Judd Apatow….Kirsten Wigg stars in the movie and her character, Annie is best friends with Maya Rudolph who plays Lillian. Kirsten and Maya are both from SNL so you know we are in for lots of laughter. So Lillian gets engaged and at the time of her engagement, Annie’s life is just a total mess….she’s been hurt by love and she’s broke….but in true BFF form, she takes the role as maid-of-honor and she’s determined to make this time in Lillian’s life perfect. And so, the BRIDESMAIDS journey begins….Annie and Lillian, along with her other ‘fun’ bridesmaids, set out to have all sorts of ‘wedding planning’ fun! Shopping for the bridesmaids’s dresses was totally an experience but my favorite part of the movie is the bridal shower party….although Annie is Lillian’s MOH, bridesmaid Helen, played by Rose Byrne, throws the most ‘over the top’ bridal shower that you will ever see….and the gifts that she has as favors will have you SCREAMING with laughter…it is too funny! Now just to make sure you don’t go ‘way over the top’ with your BFF’s bridal shower, I thought it would be ‘fitting’ to share a few bridal shower tips with you…I know when planning we sometimes get a little carried away, so please remember when planning your BFF’s bridal shower, just keep thinking ‘simple and elegant’! |

Now, here’s the perfect example of a beautiful bridal shower that is truly ‘simple and elegant’…the theme, ‘Love in Bloom‘ describes this bridal shower perfectly. This theme bridal shower was featured over at my beautiful friend, Leila Khalil’s blog, Inspired by This! Deciding on a theme is a key element when planning your BFF’s bridal shower…once you’ve choosen the theme, you can then begin to plan all the details. I love the fact that this bridal shower was held out in the backyard of Leila’s parent’s home and the decor totally fit the theme. Make the party all about the bride-to-be and include things that you know she loves….her favorite flowers and food and make the party a little extra special with a couple of fun games. I love the use of the bride’s love for herbs used through out the shower and the favors, are simply perfect…each guest got to plant a flower in the cutest little flower pot to take home! | Make certain to have the guest of honor…aka…bride-to-be…favorite food….and if you can have a couple of cute guys to serve it, even better!
