CA ENGAGEMENT SESSION – BRIANNA & EMERSON

Happy Monday Guys….hope you all had a wonderful weekend…we are opening the cafe with the cutest and most stylish couple, Brianna & Emerson.  Their e-session was captured by the oh-so-sweet and AMAZINGLY talented, Monika of Monika Bliss Morris Photography.  Monika is currently located in Sacremento and she’ll be relocating to Orlando, FL this fall.  Monkika shared that all the photos were taken in the Napa Valley of California. They started the session in a vineyard and were pleasantly surprised when hot air balloons started rising up into the sky! Then they headed into St. Helena for some shots in town. They finished off the session at their alma matter, where they drew an eye on a Daruma doll, a Japanese tradition of goal making.  Let’s check out all the beautiful images Monika sent over….Enjoy!!!

TBCHow did you guys meet?

Brianna:  We met the beginning of our freshman year of college (2005) in Northern California. We were introduced by some mutual friends. We were friends for 2 years before we started dating.

TBC:  Can you share your engagement story?

Brianna:  We had spend the weekend after thanksgiving with his family and were driving home to have a dinner date. On the drive home, Emerson got a call from a friend in a cover band saying that he needed his help to cover for a member of the band. I was semi confused, as Emerson plays the guitar and he needed to cover for the band member who played the piano.

I was not that disappointed that we had to skip the date and spend time listening to our friend’s band that night because I knew that that meant free food afterwards! We rushed to pick up his guitar and headed to the restaurant where the band was playing. Emerson insisted on parking in the front of the restaurant because all of our family and friends were hiding out in the back parking lot waiting. We walked up to the patio to greet our friends/band before starting their set.

Then, I saw my good friend Monika who had been out of the state traveling for the past year (also our engagement photographer). She was back in town, having dinner with our other good friend Leslie. After talking for a few minutes, she ran off and music started playing. I looked over my shoulder to see a lot of my good friends and family standing around and starting to dance as I tried to get their attention by waving. I was confused because no one was waving and was wondering how everyone knew this dance, but I didn’t.

At one point, everyone squatted down during the choreographed dance and Emerson was standing and dancing. Only then did I realize what was happening. I started tearing up from excitement, shock, and awe. Emerson did an amazing job getting a professional choreographer in Redlands from Fox Dance Studio to help coordinate the flashmob proposal compiled of 30 friends and family who practiced two times a week for three weeks prior.

Monika, thanks so much for stopping by the cafe today…we look forward to your next visit….guys, head over Monika Bliss Morris Photography to see so much more of her beautiful work and to Brianna & Emerson, have fun planning your big day!!
