DIY – SNAP STATION
| I’m so excited to share our DIY project with you today…’Snap Station‘….created by the beautiful and oh-so-talented and sweet, Hillary Burgess…..Hillary won the cafe’s DIY contest a few weeks ago and she stopped by to share a little inspiration with us…..Enjoy!
‘This a new spin on the old favorite of putting disposable cameras on tables for guests to take pictures during the wedding reception. The idea is to have a selection of user friendly, yet more creative cameras, as an activity for guests.The ‘Snap Station’ is also an alternative to the popular photo booth. |

| Where to get Cameras:
There are many different places to get old cameras (Ebay, Etsy, Craigslist), toy cameras (Urban Outfitters, Fred Flare) and so on. My guess is that if you ask friends and family, they likely have fun/vintage/cool cameras lying around their houses (think Aunt Dorthy’s attic). I borrowed the Brownie, Holga and Pop Camera from my good friend Jessica, she’s the coolest. The Polaroid and Nikon I had. I found though that quite a few other friends had fun cameras lying around. Just be willing to pay for anything broken during the wedding (accidents do happen). Other fun options are Fisheye Cameras, Fuji Intax Instant Camera (Fuji’s solution to the lack of polaroid film availablity) and Lomo Cameras (generally these take 4 pics at once). Black and White single use cameras like the one found here can also be a great option. You can also give these single use Black and White cameras to the younger guests at your wedding, and that should keep them busy, minimally during cocktail hour! |

| Film: Brownies and Holga’s take different kinds of film, check it out on-line for the specific model you purchase. Polaroid film is being made again in 2010, yah! For immediate needs, do an online search. |

| Manning the booth: I would suggest hiring a photography student (put an ad on craigslist) and pay him/her for a few hours to man the booth, change film and show guests how to use the funkier cameras like the Brownie.

| For the Sign:
This is simply printed out out letters glue to scrap book paper. Then glued to a bigger piece of scrapbook paper. The inner piece is framed with ribbon. Also, I made little folding cards naming the camera and a brief description of what the camera would do.’ |
