HAPPY BIRTHDAY JANIE!

Hi everyone! Liene here. Janie is off today tending to some family matters, but I wanted to let you all know that today is her birthday! (And yes, Janie, this post is what you get for giving me your blog password!)

If you’ve ever talked to Janie for more than five minutes, then you know that she is pure joy. She has an infectious laugh, a fabulous outlook on life, and down-to-earth wisdom that always seems to share just what you need to hear right when you need to hear it. 

As she always reminds me, she is old enough to be my mother (I know — she doesn’t look it AT ALL). I so admire that she doesn’t let age define her or where she’s headed. I think it’s easy to say things like ‘how can I compete with younger florists or younger bloggers?’ but those aren’t questions Janie asks. She simply says, ‘I’ve got a couple decades on you, watch out.’ And then she goes and does things her way. The Bride’s Cafe is a perfect example of her voice and personality and glimpses into the things she loves. Her flowers, which she calls her babies, are stylish, creative and stunning every time. There’s no doubt that Janie’s talented. And more than that, she’s kind and generous without ever sacrificing honesty. A rare combination.

So, happy birthday, Janie! The wedding industry is better with you in it and my life is better with you in it. I love that this crazy world of wedding blogging has connected so many of us in such meaningful ways.
