JANICE & DAMI’S BEAUTIFUL WEDDING STORY

Hi Guys….it’s ‘Throwback Thurday’ at the cafe….let’s kick things off with the beautiful wedding story of Janice & Dami….xoxo

———————————————————————

I am over the moon excited about our featured wedding today….say hello to Janice & Dami…they are such a beautiful couple…their wedding story is simply gorgeous….filled with beauty and elegance…filled with the love among their families and friends and I’m so excited that they are sharing their beautiful Nigerian Culture with us.

Janice & Dami’s beautiful wedding story was captured by the ever so talented and I have to add, one of the nicest guys, Raheem Osanyin of Rhphotoarts out of Houston, TX.  Raheem’s work is STUNNING…..when you visit his site be prepared to stay awhile….there is so much beautiful ‘eye candy’ to see….Enjoy!!

Janice shares a little info with us……’Dami and I were introduced through my sister and his cousin’s wife. We met in May of 2008.  We kept in contact by conversing via email for 3 months. We started talking on the phone in August, he came to visit me in TX in October and we started dating.

In February of 2009, he proposed to me and we set the date for October 2009. My husband was so involved with the entire wedding process and most of the wedding details. We both picked our wedding colors-olive green and champagne with a tint of lime green. We decided to use the Houston Marriott Westchase because it was one of the few venues that had enough space to seat our 700 + guests. I worked with Marcus Antonio who gave me exceptional service.

Once the venue was secured, it was time for me to get my dress. I went to only two locations but knew I had found my dress at the first place I went to. I got my dress from Alfred Angelo.  I was going for a vintage look and needed to find the exact dress for the look I had in mind. My dress was from the Alfred Angelo Sapphire Collection…..it was a strapless ballgown with detachable sleeves. The color of my dress was oyster and it was organza over satin and I loved the way the back of the dress looked on me.

My jewelry was borrowed from my mom and it worked great with my look. My bridesmaids dresses were also from Alfred Angelo as well. I lost my dad three months before I got married so my older brother walked me down the aisle and he did a really good job!

My makeup was done by Tanisha Burr. My hair was done by Tokini with Lyza Dora Beauty Consultants.

The flowers were done by Pedro with ‘Flowers by Ashley‘.   We had a live band and a DJ at the wedding as well. We opt-ed for the band because of our Nigerian culture and it was a blast!  It felt like a live concert when they started playing towards the night. The band’s name is ‘Kings Rhythm‘.

We also had sixty, ‘twelve seater’ tables….at each table we had sixty different romantic places around the world. We didn’t want the regular table numbers, instead,  we wanted more of a romantic feel to things. On the tables we also had sugar cookies made that had our initials engraved on it ‘JD‘ in lime green!   Our cake was made by Nadine with ‘Who Made the Cake‘ and she designed it exactly the way I wanted it.’

This is one of my favorite images…Janice with all of her girls…and they all are so beautiful!

OMG….Janice is a STUNNING bride!
