OLD HOLLYWOOD ENGAGEMENT RINGS WITH RITANI
Hi Guys….thanks so much for stopping by the cafe! I’m so excited about today’s feature…it’s all about beautiful actresses from ‘Old Hollywood’ and beautiful rings….engagement rings to be exact and from one of my favorite jewelers…Ritani! I love watching those old black and white movies from the early 1920’s into the late 1960’s. When I think about that period of time, the Hollywood stars were so elegant, glamorous and classic! So, today I thought it would be fun to share photos of a few of Hollywood’s leading ladies from that era, and check out the style of their engagement rings and compare them to the similar styles of Ritani’s beautiful rings of today.
Let’s begin with the beautiful Grace Kelly. She began her acting career in 1950 and in 1956, she married Prince Rainier of Monaco. Her emerald cut engagement ring was simply gorgeous and truly fit for a Princess!

Actress and Fashion Icon, Audrey Hepburn was so ahead of her time. Her first husband Mel Ferrer gifted her with two sets of wedding bands, one rose gold and the other white gold. With her iconic style, she could match the rings with her wardrobe…such a trendsetter! Miss Hepburn’s wedding bands are similar to Ritani’s wedding rings …..don’t you just love these…..and how cool is it that she was wearing the ‘stackable’ ring trend before it became so popular years later! |

Elizabeth Taylor is one of the most popular stars of Hollywood classics. Having been married eight times with two of the marriages to actor Richard Burton, (who by the way, gave her one of the most famed diamonds in the world, 33.19 carats, the Krupp asscher cut) it comes as no surprise that Elizabeth Taylor has a stunning jewelry collection! Miss Taylor’s first marriage to Conrad Hilton ended after only eight months. Although the marriage ended very quickly, it started off with a gorgeous engagement ring, a 4-carat diamond set in platinum. You can check out a similar one here from Ritani! |

Hollywood actress Norma Shearer‘s career spanned from 1925 -1942. In 1927 she married MGM executive, Irving Thalberg. Check out the proposal….he called her to his office one day and presented her with a tray filled with diamond engagement rings and told her to pick out the one she wanted. I don’t think it was a surprise that she opted for the stunning marquise cut diamond ring. I mean seriously, that is truly some BLING!! I love it! Ritani has a similar marquise cut diamond ring here! |

Hollywood actress Lauren Bacall was named the 20th greatest female star of Classic Hollywood cinema by the American Film Institute. Miss Bacall and Hollywood actor, Humphrey Bogart had one of the most famous love affairs of Hollywood. They were married in 1945 and their May-December romance lasted until Bogart’s death in 1957. Her beautiful wedding band seems to have a colorful gemstone in the center with a wide band. I so love this image of her…so strikingly beautiful! |
