REAL RICHMOND, VIRGINIA WEDDING: KELLY & PAUL

Hi Guys….let’s go back down ‘Memory Lane‘ with one of my favorite couples Kelly & Paul….hope you are having a great weekend!!

Meet Kelly & Paul…a very special couple to me…I, JMFlora Design, had the pleasure and the honor to be the floral designer for their beautiful wedding.  Kelly is a sweetheart…she’s truly a beautiful woman….inside and out!  I had so much fun working with her and I’m excited to share her and Paul’s beautiful day with you.  One of my favorite people and photographers, Eleise Theuer, captured their special day…as always..Eleise ROCKS!!…Enjoy!!!

Kelly shares a little inifo with us……’Our Richmond, VA wedding took place on November 8th at Reveille United Methodist Church with a reception following at The Jefferson Hotel. We were very lucky to have one of the last warm and sunny days of 2008! My dress was made of dupioni silk and was designed by Lea-Ann Belter. I loved that dress because it was so light and comfortable!….it felt like I was wearing a sundress. The bridesmaid dresses were designed by Jenny Yoo and featured a lace bolero & matching lace hem. We custom made the cummerbunds and bowties for the groom & groomsmen. The fabric was purchased at Willliams & Sherrill Interiors and each set was handmade at Peter Blair, a local Richmond men’s shop.’

We were incredibly lucky to have Janie Medley Flora Design do all of the flowers for the ceremony and reception. I had my heart set on a pink theme and Janie translated that beautifully!!  Eleise Theuer was our photographer and she did a fantastic job of capturing all of the details and emotions throughout the day.

The Jefferson is a beautiful, historic hotel in the heart of Richmond’s downtown. The cocktail hour was held in the Rotunda that features an ornate staircase, which Paul and I walked down after we were announced. The cocktail hour featured our two signature drinks, the ‘Sweet Tea-Ni’, a sweet tea martini, and the ‘Rocky Top Sidecar’, a nod to Paul’s alma mater. Dinner and dancing was held in the Grand Ballroom. All of our guests (as well as Paul & I!) were dancing all night long due to our awesome band, the Kings of Swing. Everyone loved them and they made our first dance together really special. Paul and I took dance lessons for the dance, which was set to Michael Bublé’s ‘Everything.’
