SOMETHING NEW : INSPIRED BY VINTAGE SKELETON KEYS

Good Morning Everyone! Alisha again, so glad to be stopping by the cafe on this fine Tuesday morning! The theme I have for you all today is inspired by vintage skeleton keys.

Whether you are looking for an entire themed wedding, a sweet, graphic motif to accent, an inspirational meaning, or to just add a little vintage feel to your big day, I think this montage of key-inspiration should do the trick in unlocking your imagination 🙂
Everyone likes the unique, vintage feel of these keys. I think it is the inner romantic in all of us because as cheesy as it sounds –we all want to marry the one who holds the key to our heart– and as much as a lot of us hate to be cheesy, we love the idea. So, all cheesiness aside, I hope you enjoy today’s post and are inspired to add a little old fashioned romance to your decor!

1. A sweet and simple bouquet gets a little more special with a vintage key attached to the burlap wrapping. So much romance in that combination of roses & keys.

2. I love this idea for seating cards. The whole display has such a antique store/flea market feel to it. Like you’re searching for a treasure… Try to find keys in all different shapes, colors & sizes, sometimes mis-matched is good!

3. Another take of the seating card idea, using old shutters as a backdrop. I think the shutters would look lovely painted in some kind of pastel. Like a soft yellow?

4. There are so many options for adorable save the dates using a key motif. I like the teal key in this one, it pops against the black and white!

5. An entire invitation suite based on the key motif… so lovely! A fun way to make these your own would be to have the wording or the key done in color, to brighten it up a little. Especially for Summer. I almost picture it with an accent color of something pretty unexpected… like magenta.

6. These key boutonnieres make me happy! I love the one on the left because there is still some floral aspect but it is not too overdone! You’d be surprised how many guys are weird about wearing a little bit of a flower pinned on them… even if it happens like two times in their life…

8. Use your little skeleton keys as props for your ring photos.

Plus, I needed some excuse to post a gorgeous ring 😉

8. Just another way to carry on the vintage key theme. Whether you use real metal keys just as decoration (left), or if they are hand-crafted out of fondant (right), they are just adorable.

9. Create a custom monogram using your love of keys. Design it yourself to use on whatever you please.

10. I saved my favorite idea for last. I’m obsessed with the sentimental ideas like this one. I think I will have to do this whenever my wedding rolls around… I  would love to see the kind of marriage advice I would get from couples old & young!

You can use this in lieu of, or in addition to, a guest book. How sweet will it be to read all of these together after the wedding?!
