Pink Boutonniere

1. I wire certain flowers for boutonnieres, like ranunculus. Ranunculus won’t last all day as a boutonniere in summer weather, so the wire helps keep them upright even if the blooms start to get soft. I insert the wire straight up the inside of the stem, and make sure it lodges into the head of the flower.

2. Gather your flowers together making a small bouquet. A bit of height variance is nice, I like a bit of filler on the sides or in the front beneath the focal flowers. Remember that the boutonniere will need to have a somewhat flat backside so that it will pin on nicely.

3. Wrap all of the stems together tightly with floral tape. You can leave the bottom of the stems out, or wrap them up.

4. Cover the floral tape with the ribbon of your choice. I put a tiny dab of hot glue on the ends of the ribbon to keep them in place. Voila!
